Israeli Nationals

Pre-operative Clinical Assessment
As an Israeli National, your chosen surgeon will determine your condition, its cause and severity. He will make a report of his diagnosis and discuss the results and possible treatment path.

Quotation
Once your chosen surgeon has confirmed you are a candidate for surgery, your quotation will be prepared, for the proposed treatment.
We shall contact your Health Insurance provider and liaise with them on your behalf.
Once this quotation has been received and accepted by your insurance , you are officially considered a patient with GMS and communication with your designated GMS staff member will begin right away.
Our team is composed of individuals with extensive experience in the field, fluent in a numerous languages and will be there for you every step of the way. They will be on hand to answer any questions and ensure all needs are met – guaranteeing a flawless experience.

Communication, Planning and Personal Assistance
Once your surgeon’s availability and dates are confirmed, we will begin to plan your trip by managing the surgical scheduling, hotel accommodation and local transfers.

Our patients are advised to travel with a companion and are normally required to remain in Cyprus for a minimum of two – three days, in order to undergo surgery and safely recuperate. however, you will be advised accordingly by your surgeon.

Your designated staff member will ensure all required medical records are available in our system and advise you on any necessary travel documentation needed while also providing any other information you may require.

You will receive your personalized schedule and all the relevant information you need in order to prepare for your journey and surgery, seven days prior to your arrival. This process enables our patients to enjoy their trip, safe in the knowledge that everything has been accounted for in advance of their arrival.

Preparation for Surgery
Seven days prior to your arrival in Cyprus, you will receive all the necessary pre operative instructions, to prepare yourself both physically and mentally for your chosen procedure.
Getting your house ready before your surgery
It is also important to get your house ready for after you come home from the hospital. At first it will be harder for you to move around, so arrange your furniture and household items ahead of time to make it easier for you during your rehabilitation.
• Remove all your throw rugs or anything on the floor that may cause you to trip.
• Move phone and electrical cords close to the walls.
• Move necessary personal items you need to reach to shelves and tables that are above your waist level.

Upon Arrival
You will be accompanied to all doctor’s appointments, pre and post operatively throughout your stay by our able staff.

The moment you arrive in Cyprus you will be met by our driver and assigned GMS team member, who will accompany you to your hotel.

Once you have checked-in to your hotel, your designated caregiver will go over your personalized schedule, answer any questions you may have and provide any clarifications you may need.

After arriving in Cyprus, a new set of tests and X-rays (or other imaging) may be necessary as well as an in person physical examination. The surgeon and anaesthetist will also go through you medical and surgical concerns with you. During this visit, your surgeon will discuss your surgical procedure and answer any questions you may have.

Day before surgery
You may need to do a bowel prep to clean the stool out of your colon. Your doctor or nurse will give you more instructions based on the type of prep. You should not eat or drink anything after midnight the evening before your surgery.

Surgery
You will be accompanied to all doctor’s appointments, pre and post operatively throughout your stay by our staff.

On the morning of your scheduled surgery, you will be admitted to the facility where pre operative consultation and tests will be performed.

While you undergo your surgery, our staff will attend to your companions’ needs, informing them of your surgical progress.

Once Surgery has been performed and you have been discharged from the facility, you may then enjoy your recuperation in the comfort of your hotel.

Our Resident Practitioner will then monitor your recovery on a daily basis, making certain your healing process is going as planned.

Excursions
Depending on how you feel and only with the consent of your surgeon, shopping and sightseeing excursions may be organized.

“Fit to Fly”
Your surgeon and our Resident Practitioner will discuss your healing progress daily and providing your recuperation is normal, you will be deemed “fit to fly”, meaning your surgical experience with us is nearly over.

A Certificate of Health, (the “fit to fly” certificate) shall be presented to you, as will post operative instructions, medicinal prescriptions and any other documents you may require.

You will be escorted to the airport by our staff, who will make sure the last details of your visit and your homebound flight run smoothly.

Post-Operative Follow-Up
Once you are home, your surgeon will still be in contact with you regularly to monitor your progress.

International Patients

Before travelling to Cyprus, as part of your surgery preparation you will complete a detailed specific questionnaire, which will allow our doctors to determine your eligibility for your chosen procedure. Your records will be reviewed thoroughly by our specialist surgeons. This includes X-rays, scans and bloods and a complete medical and surgical history as well as your specific issues.

Diagnosis
We shall offer a comprehensive diagnosis of your condition through our medical board, which will review your scans, films and medical history, whilst noting your condition, its cause and severity. A report of their findings will be sent to you and we will then discuss the results and possible treatment path with you, to determine if you are a candidate for the services we offer.

Quotation
Once you have undergone the GMS Pre-operative Clinical Assessment and your chosen surgeon has confirmed you are a candidate for surgery, your quotation will be prepared, for the proposed treatment.
If you have International Health Insurance, we shall contact your provider and liaise with them on your behalf.
Once this quotation has been received and accepted by you, you are officially considered a patient with GMS and then communication with your designated GMS staff member begins immediately.
